All windows and doors were glued to the fuselage halves first. Next I glued the two halves inch by inch as there was a tendency for them to come apart if not held together until the glue had cured. In the end there was only the top section that required a little Tamiya putty along the seams. The wings, rear tail sectoins and side sponsons were glued togther whilst waiting for sections of the fuselage to cure; no problems encountered. After cleanup of all seams I have glued the sponsons on, but the starboard wing join is going to have to be worked on to reduce the gap on top. For this pic I dry fitted the rear tails and the wings.

Wings were glued on and only a slight amount of putty was required after test fititing and filing. The tail was glued on with no work necessary.

The next stage was to mask the windows, which took a while. Then I sprayed Humbrol #11 Silver and let cure overnight. The top of the wing was masked and Humbrol #19 Red was applied.

After letting the Red cure for about 18 hours, I then masked off ready for the black. I was thrown off slightly by the instructions which states to use Humbrol #30 green, but after checking and double checking I noticed they also say to use Humbrol #33. After the check of pictures I also noticed that the plane had deicing boots along the leading edges. These are not very clear on the instructions, so be warned. I eventually finished the masking and sprayed Humbrol #85 Satin Black instead of the Matt as suggested.

After giving the paintwork time to cure, I attached the engines, applied Bare Metal Foil to the back of the wing landing lights and attached them, along with the observation dome, with Humbrol Clearfix. I then applied the very few decals. I botched up the starboard "Pan American Airways System", so you will have imagine it's there for now. I may attempt another build and do the B.O.A.C. version at a later date, and use the PAAS decal from there.
