Scheme - MAW Decals #48-MAW-004

16 May 2007
With the exception of the decals and weapons, the build will use whats in the box.
All weapons for the 3 Night Hawks build have been selected, and constructed.
L-R:- Rear = AN/ALQ-167 [A6], AIM-9L (x2) [FA18D], GBU-12 (x4) [FA18D & A6], GBU-10 [FA18D]
Front = Mk82 Snakeeyes (x12) [A6], Mk83 (x2) [A4].
The ALQ167 pod is scratchbuilt, the Snakeeyes are from the A6 kit, and the remainder from the variousHasegawa Weapon sets

After posting the above ordanance photo on ARC, it was pointed out that the Weapon Set B GBU-10 & 12 bombs had Vietnam era fins (larger) which would have been fine on the A4, if it had carried them, but not on the A6 and FA18. So I will use the correct ones in the Weapon Set D.
On to tonights update, and the A4 cockpit and other parts have been painted ready for the closure of the fuselage.
21 May 2007
Main fuselage closed up and nose added. The wings have been assembled and the red sprayed (yes it is red, but for some reason my camera insists on it being pink
).
22 June 2007
Main paint scheme has been applied - Humbrol #129 over Humbrol #130. A Klear coat will be applied before decalling.
04 July 2007
Decals were applied followed by a sealing coat of Klear.
The panel wash is a new medium in the arsenal and is demonstrated by the manufacturer, Phil Flory, here. Highly recommended.
After the wash was applied, all remaining items were attached.
Completed photos.
