Base of coat of Humbrol #129 (FS26440) sprayed. I still have to finish the cockpit consoles, attach the front windshield, then I can spray the Black on to the canopy and front fuselage as shown in the profile at the top of the page. Once thats done, I will spray the wheel wells white, paint the wing bladders, apply a Klear/Future coat ready for decalling.

Decalling finished finally. The old Microscale sheet I used for the markings although excellent in handling and application, left a lot to be desired in the register area. I had to find markings for the stencils from other sheets.

Then once I had nearly finshed I noticed on my reference images that there was a thin White Pin surround on the "Skunk Stripe". So I had to use some thin (0.25mm) white stripes to achieve the required results.

Next step is to clean all decal glue/residue and apply a further Klear/Future coating, ready for an enamel wash.

After applying a further coat of Klear/Future I removed all masking, and applied an enamel wash consisting of Humbrol #32 and thinners. Once I was happy with it, I attached all the extras - landing gear, doors, antennas, tail fins, ventral fins and the weapons. Here are shots of the finished model.

As I was editing the photos I noticed a big black line on the pics - the front fuselage has split from the main body. Hopefully I can repair it over the next couple of days.
