6 Jan 2005

Most of the clean up is complete and I have started on the construction.

The 6 part exhaust was a major PITA. I have also added some 0.4mm plastic strips to the interior of the cans, to simulate the real one and to hide the sink marks on each part.

25 Jan 2006

Making steady progress. I have the fuselages now together, just some clean up left to do on the seams.

The instrument consoles are also nearly ready for putting in the cockpits.

4 Feb 2006

The base coat of Humbrol #127 (FS36375) has nearly cured so I quickly painted the vertical tail tips with Humbrol Insignia Red #153, the only spot of colour (except for the decals) on this aircraft.

8 Feb 2006

Decalling nearly complete, just need to apply the wing markings and upper turbine stripe.

10 Feb 2006

Decalling completed and Klear coated, ready for an oil wash.

As can just be seen in this next photo the carrier film on the Hasegawa decals is as thick as some of thier older boxings, but they seem to be more flexible and bed down very nicely. Also the first set of seats are now ready. After basic colours were applied, a Klear coat was sprayed on, followed by a Tamiya Smoke wash. Then a Pollyscale flat coat, and finally drybrushed with light gray for the seat cushions/belts and silver for the black.

I also forgot to mask the metal areas on the gun and access panel when applying the base colours, so a quick mask and spray of Alclad Steel and shes done.

12 Feb 2006

OK 99% done. Just have to add the pitots, and the canopy support and PE.

18 Feb 2006

Completed.
