Most parts have now been removed from their sprues, cleaned and are ready painting/assembly.
I wish the aftermarket companies would hurry up and produce some resin replacements for these nozzles - it took all weekend to complete these.

With my F-15 completed my attention has returned to the F-14s. After about a weeks worth of prep, the initial painting has begun. All undercarriage, engine intakes and cans were sprayed with Humbrol #130 - Satin White. Next were the wing leading edges and engine fans which were sprayed with Alclad Aluminium, and the exhaust petals, burner rings and cooling vents were sprayed with Alclad Steel.

Major paintwork nearly completed. The VF-102 and VF-143 can be continued, but the VF-11 and VF-32, I am awaiting paint for the Dark Blue (FS15044).
13 Feb 2006
The Xtracolor paint has duly arrived and has now been sprayed. I removed all masking and just have to wait for it to cure.
18 Feb 2006
Xtracolor eventually cured and a Klear coat was applied. Spent today applying Two Bobs excellent decals. Cleaned up the decal glue and setting solutions, and will apply a futher Klear coat tomorrow, prior to giving it a light wash (Not sure on an Oil or enamel yet).
Completed. I went with the Raw Umber Oil Wash in the end and sealed with a Pollyscale Flat varnish. I left the Dark Blue paint as gloss.
