Finally completed the inital cleanup of kit parts. Next stage will be the painting of the cockpit, intakes and bare metal areas. I am not showing any pictures yet as they would be similar to the VF-102 and VF-11. So I shall update them when I get to the main paint stage.

Round one of the paint session is completed. Base coats of FS36375 (Humbrol #127) applied now have to wait for them to cure before starting the next coats.

13 Feb 2006

As mentioned in the VF-11 build, I have been waiting for paint to complete the paint scheme. It arrived today and was sprayed this evening. After an hour or so I removed the masking and now I just have to wait for it to fully cure.

Xtracolor eventually cured and a Klear coat was applied. Spent today applying Two Bobs excellent decals. Cleaned up the decal glue and setting solutions, and will apply a futher Klear coat tomorrow, prior to giving it a light wash.

Completed. I went with the Raw Umber Oil Wash in the end and sealed with a Pollyscale Flat varnish. I left the Dark Blue paint as gloss.

And a couple of shots of my F-14 collection - so far.
