The initial Mess/Cockpit Tub

Instrument Panel / Ejector Seat

06/04/2004 Mishap#1

One thing Ive learnt today..don't do something without thinking about it first, especially after a hard days work.

Both Tail stabs were sprayed with Xtracolor Enamel/Lacquer thinners yesterday. And today I just sprayed the Tail Stab on the right with another coat. I should have used mineral spirits, instead of Lacquer Thinners

Well Ive stripped the paint off the stab, and re-primed ready for redoing the Alclad Aluminium Leading edge tomorrow.

A few shots of the Ejector Seat and Cockpit tub Futured up ready for an Oil wash...

10/4/2004

Seat & Tub Oil washed with Burnt Sienna, then Matt varnish applied.

Seat buckles added

11/04/2004 Mishap #2

Fitted cockpit, Nose Gear well into fuselage and attched wings. Due to the possibility of this being a "tail heavy" plane I superglued a few nuts into the nose of the fuselage. Whilst cleaning up the seams, I dropped it onto the floor, and results can be seen. Nose Gear Strut broke into 3 pieces.

17/04/2004

Fixed the nose gear using metal from a pop rivet (the only metal I had available) for the main strut, and 1.0mm copper wire for the axle.

... and fresh from the paint shop (second coating)

22/04/2004

Finally the paint has cured enough to touch, so Ive taken off the masking tape

Tail hook / Nose Gear well
