Cockpit nearly done

Main paint scheme completed. Tamiya XF-21 for sky undersides, Humbrol #29 Brown and #30 Green for camo. The XT L was sprayed (Tamiya XF-19) and masked prior to spraying the camo. I shall be applying a few Klear coats later, ready for applying the decals.

31 October 2008

5 Coats of Klear applied, and left to cure for 24 hours. Decals applied and another 2 coats of Klear sealed in the decals. I then used a Phil Flory Black line wash on the panel lines. Remaining parts to be painted and attached over the weekend.

02 November 2008

After painting and attaching the remaining parts, a thinned mix of Tamiya Thinners and Xtracrlix Flat Varnish (50/50) was sprayed over the entire aircraft, and the canopy masking was then removed.

I will probably attempt, in the future, to build a display stand, to be able to show them as in the inspiration photo that started this mini project off.
